Sorry for the long time in between posts. Our camera battery has been on the fritz so I haven't been able to take/upload pictures. I will do so soon, but in the meantime, here a couple of updates from us.
I took Phoenix a few weeks ago to get his pictures taken at JCP. Of course he was a little frump (freakin' grump). As soon as I set him down he started crying and wouldn't smile at the lady. The only time he smiled was when I was holding his hands so he could stand up. He warmed up a little when we took his clothes off and took some baby-in-a-diaper pics with his crib blanket, but his eyes are a little red and teary in the pictures. If I can do a decent job, I will take pics of the pics and post them on here. After they loaded all of the pictures onto the computer and brought us back in to look at them, Phoenix was smiling and laughing and making noise at the lady like crazy. Of course.
He is just getting over his first cold. It's pretty terrible. He hasn't been sleeping well and he's been very grumpy. A couple of nights he slept with me and Cory slept in the guest room. Those were pretty sleepless nights for both of us. We didn't realize how uncomfy that guest room bed is! Sorry to anyone who has slept on it!
Cory and I had a little "staycation" over valentine's weekend. We left Phoenix with Grandma and Grandpa Sanford for the night (thanks!) and got a hotel room in Boise. It was so nice to have a little break and do whatever we wanted with out having to work around naps and feeding schedules. We went the movies for the first time since he was born. We saw Seven Pounds. It wasn't at all how we expected it to be. It was interesting, but it was so sad! We loved the break but we were happy to get back to Phoenix the next day.
We've been doing some house projects lately that have been fun. We rearranged Phoenix's room and got rid of the guest bed box spring and frame. We just kept the mattress and set up the twin bed in his room and put his dresser in the closet, so there is a lot more space now. It's really nice! Also, we got some paint to paint one of the walls in our room. We will hopefully get to that soon. And, we bought some bricks to FINALLY finish our backyard fire pit. We're planning to get that done in the spring. We will post pictures when we're done.
