Busy Summer with Few Pictures!

We have had a busy summer but we haven't really taken any pictures. That seems to be our M.O.  We've been going to Boise Hawk's baseball games quite a bit, and the kids have loved it. Cory and I took a weekend trip with two other couples to Lava Hot Springs, ID and left the kids with my parents. It was tons of fun. We also went to Heber City, UT for Cory's family reunion and just got back on Sunday. We went to the Hogle Zoo, a fish hatchery, and hung out at the huge cabin/house that we stayed at. There was pond down the street that the kids loved to play in (and by in, I mean throw sticks and rocks into it and look for fish). We have also been getting in tons of park time. For Phoenix's 3rd birthday (on the July 8th) we went to a bunch of parks that we hadn't been to before. He loved it. He is also potty trained! He's growing up so fast! 

The kids are really into trains right now, so we went to the train depot a few weeks ago and the kids had a blast. Also, Skylee fell off a big play structure at the park and hit her head twice on the metal stairs on the way down. She still has a dent in her head. Here are a few pictures:

I learned a valuable lesson this time. I am not good at drawers or doors. But I like it a lot.

Slackin'

I know I'm terrible. It comes in phases. I am still not taking any pictures. I'm also sure that there are things I need to update all y'all on but I can't think of them right now, so here are a few shout outs I've been meaning to make for the last couple of months.

Todd's Boise Clutch and Auto on Fairview and Mitchell in Boise. The best place to get your car worked on. They have the best staff and the best prices and they're super honest, in my experience.

Rocky Mountain Collision Repair on Fairview and Main in Meridian. They do emissions tests for $8.88!

Grooveshark.com. They have tons and tons of music and you can make your playlists and listen to them on any computer for free. While you're there, check out the song Sleep Well by Mae. Remember how Skylee's middle name was almost Mae?

Liberty Northwest (part of Liberty Mutual) insurance. We got rear ended in Feb and the other guy had Liberty Northwest insurance. They were so awesome and easy to work with.

Bountiful Baskets.   It's a food co-op. They deliver fresh produce every week or every other week (they have different locations and you go pick it up) and it's super cheap. I actually haven't done this yet. Saturday is my first one. I'm excited. They say you get about $50 worth of produce for $15 (or $25 for organic produce). More RAM!

Cory and I have had our computer since we got married (almost 6 years ago) and it's been pretty slow lately (maybe due to the fact that they make ipods w/ more memory than our computer). We learned from Cory's dad (who has been selling computer hardware components for 20 years) that we could just get some more RAM and our computer would run faster. He hooked us up w/ 2GB for free! Now we're going to buy a 2TB external memory drive to put all of our multimedia files on and we should be good to go for another few years. Pretty exciting spending $100 instead of the $700 we were going to spend on a new computer. I already noticed that these pictures uploaded WAY faster than they have in the past.

 

Speaking of pictures, I have been really really really bad at taking them lately, but here are a few from Christmas and one from the hockey game that Cory took Phoenix to. He LOVED it.

New Kitchen Table

I spent the last two days with my dad making this table and two benches while my mom watched the kids. My parents are the best! I got the plans from Knock-Off Wood. It is the Modern Farm Table and benches. I am in the process of refinishing a couple of chairs for the ends so that I can put the kid's booster seats on them. I also made a kid's table for when we have people over, but still need to paint it and make benches for it, so pictures of that will come later. AND, this table cost less than $100 including all of the paint and primer and everything!
